Miss Lindsey's Story

Seedlings Nursery School is now closed. I work as a professional development instructor and child care coach for an amazing program located in Pinal County, AZ.  Here is the story of how I started my blog many years ago...

Originally an East-Coaster, I moved to Arizona in 2007 to begin a new life. When I became pregnant with my first son, I wasn’t sure if returning to work as a preschool teacher was going to work out, so I decided to start my own preschool.

My business changed and grew finally becoming its current incarnation: Seedlings Nursery School, a part-time hands-on early learning environment for children ages 2-5. I’ve been teaching preschool for over 20 years and I’m still growing and changing as an educator, pulling from various play-based approaches such as Waldorf, Montessori, Reggio, etc. finding out what works best for me and feels right for my students.

This blog is just the newest extension of that growth and change and I hope to become a positive voice in the Early Childhood field.

My goal as a teacher is to create a loving, patient and supportive environment where children can blossom into creative, bright and happy little people!

I spend my free time with my three amazing, brilliant, curious little ones; Monkey (10/09), Bear (9/12), and Bird (4/14).

  1. Thank you for sharing your life with us the readers! I applaud you for following your heart. I bet having a school at home or anywhere it is probably not very easy although I bet is rewarding. I homeschool my children and I thought to have a preschool at home...but my home is very little and "hard" to keep that neat. Congratulations again! Monica
